Where the hell is Eernegem???

... It's my home town! No shit! It's a very small place in belgium where I grew up and spend 18 years of my life!

It' a little place in "west-vlaanderen".  The part of belgium the closest to the seaside.  They call the area where i am from also the land of the wood (houtland).  Why they call it like this, i have no idea.  You have a couple of trees there, but it isn't that much!
The town was funded in the 9th century.  And it looks like how every little flemish town in belgium looks like.
Like for instance the big church in the middle of the town, which was off course the reason why the town was founded!

A couple weeks ago, I went to visit my grandmother, and when i arrived in "eernegem" i decided to videotape one of the roads that leads to the city centre.

Enjoy the view on a typical flemish town in belgium:

Funny Belgians!

So belgium is quite a strange country (more about that later,  in other posts).  It's a small country where a lot of people live, packed together.
So you have to get creative in some situations.
Like this guy, for exemple: the 87-year-old Eugene.  He proves to be a real parking expert. He uses a complicated ritual to get his car, a Fiat Panda (1m49 wide), inside his garage (1m55 wide) and to get out of his car and close the door.
That's how things go around here :-)

Treepics i get from friends around the world - India

Two years a go, a good friend of mine went backpacking in India.
Offcourse I asked her to take some treepics!
She sent me these, and told me she really liked the tree in the first picture.  And had to photograph it to succeed in her mission!
Mission accomplished, Lies!

the talkingmonster vs the travellingmonster

I think the excessive talker on a plane, train or bus is an universal spread thing.
Expecially very annoying when you are really tired, and want to catch some sleep!

But luckily i found some great advice on how to to handle such an annoying person.

Treepics I get from friends around the world.- Hawaï

I am really into trees and everywhere I go I'm always looking at the trees.
Some people call me obsessed, or call me a "treehugger".
Well I don't care, i just love them!

When a friend of mine goes on a trip, i always ask them to take a picture of a tree they see and really like, and send it to me.

and i've got quite a few, so far!
So i was thinking of sharing them with you in this new item on this blog.

this is a picture i got from a friend of mine who went to visit hawai.
I really like this picture because it has the palmtrees in it and off course the barefoot.
(have to walk barefoot when you are in hawaï!)
